Briggs & Stratton Commercial Power has unveiled a new range of Vanguard - single cylinder engines ranging from 5.5hp to 10hp. These new engines offer several new features and technologies which are specifically designed to ensure reliable, trouble-free operation in the most demanding applications. Vanguard Engineers have incorporated technologies such as 'Transport Guard' which simultaneously shuts off the ignition and fuel supply to the engine, preventing the possibility of the engine flooding whilst in transport. The engines also feature a high capacity, dual element, canister-style air cleaner system which has 22% greater filter surface area than competitive ranges. Furthermore, the engines also feature a new innovative OHV cylinder head design and over-sized 'Magnetron' electronic ignition system, with heavy duty metal recoil assembly. The net result of these new advanced features are easier starting with less effort, and superior overall performance.
